Ingredients
- Lipton black tea bags – 8 regular-size bags (or 2 family-size)
- Water – about 1 gallon total
- Ice – to serve
- Optional: 1/2 to 1 cup sugar (for sweet tea), or lemon slices
Instructions
Step One:
- Bring about 4 cups of water to a boil in a saucepan.
- (Don’t use all the water at once — you’ll add the rest later for a smoother taste.)
Step Two:
- Remove the pan from heat. Toss in your Lipton tea bags.
- Let them steep for about 5 to 6 minutes.
- Steeping longer can bring out bitterness — so don’t overdo it!
Step Three:
- If you’re sweetening your tea, add the sugar while it’s still warm. This helps it dissolve fully. (Anywhere from half a cup to a full cup, depending on your sweet tooth.)
Step Four:
- Pour the concentrated tea into a gallon pitcher, then top it off with cool water until it reaches the 1-gallon mark.
Step Five:
- Chill it in the fridge or serve right away over ice.
- Add lemon wedges if that’s your vibe.
